The Final Stretch

This summer has been full of changes! One of the biggest transitions for me is the upcoming completing of my Masters in Arts and Culture Outreach Advocacy! I will be finishing my thesis before the end of this month and can not believe what an amazing and transforming experience this program has been. I have a deep appreciation and love for all things arts and community related, specifically with engagement and social justice tied in. We are at an incredible time in history where we can all learn from past mistakes and tragedies and do better for the growth and equality of our fellow people. I am sharing relevant information as I find it on my instagram stories related to doing the work for a more equitable society... follow me at @elisagomezart.
Between school and teaching, I have been working on an especially vibrant series, La Doña, which are small oil and oil pastel paintings on panel. I am currently working on expanding this series onto a large canvas... stay tuned for that! In the meantime, you can check out the adorably small pieces in my SHOP, and yes, I will be donating 50% of those sales to BLM for the foreseeable future. The full description and meaning of this series is in the item description, so head over to see what it's all about!
With my masters program imminently finishing, I am excited announce that I will be putting my skillset and passion to use as a part time Community Engagement Coordinator with Breck Create! I am so excited to see where this position leads and to work with the local community here using the arts.
